This was one of the most incredible experiences of my entire life. From start to finish, it was an amazing day. My driver contacted me the day before and picked me up promptly at 4:30am. Mico was the best tour guide I've had, and I highly recommend him for a safe, informative, and enjoyable excursion. After driving for 2.5 hours, we arrived at the visitor's centre where you receive complementary coffee and the trek briefing. After, you drive to the starting point of the hike. Porters are available to carry your bags, and my guide Felicien was knowledgable and overall great company. The trek itself is beautiful. Good hiking boots and pants are huge for the hike, and the gorilla trackers are really amazing in the way they are able to monitor and protect the gorilla families. I'm left speechless at the enormous privilege it is to be among mountain gorillas in their home. This is a true once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm grateful to Vista Safaris for an unforgettable experience!
Did the 1 day Lake Kivu Trip including the coffee farm experience, boat ride, swimming, and a nice hike to the top of Napoleon Island. It was a fun time and a good price. Each event was well planned and the timing was perfect so the whole trip went smoothly. The food along the way was delicious. Justin the guide was a wealth of knowledge and entertaining to chat with. Highly recommend Vista Safaris and Justin as guide!
Absolutely brilliant! Guides and drivers were knowledgeable, kind, professional and wonderful throughout. We did a day trip, and they got us really close to lions and a good view of white rhinos before 11am - which was amazing. The whole day was great - exactly the right balance of comfortable and exciting. Highly recommend. (Photos are just from my phone - haven't looked at the camera ones yet but looking forward to them).
I had a great trip to Akagera NP with Fiston the guide. We saw elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, antelopes, zebras and much more. We also rescued another car in difficulty whose wheel fell into a hole. The company is very flexible and reacts quickly.
Justin and Ishimwe were both knowledgeable, fun, and professional guides who helped me fall even more in love with Rwanda. This was one of my favorite tours and I would recommend to anyone who is visiting the country that you book with this company. This was both a historical tour and nature tour. I booked the day trip with them to Lake Kivu and each part of that day from start to finish was incredibly memorable. The scenery is beautiful during the drive but you also stop along the way to have sites and area explained to you in detail. Lake Kivu itself was beyond words and the guides take you across various islands on hikes and explaining the history behind each one. Every island on Lake Kivu has a backstory. On this trip I discovered information about new birds, plants, and the history and stories of Rwanda and the area of Lake Kivu. The tour ends on a coffee farm and co-op chosen by one of the guides. I didn’t know what to expect and it was an amazing tour on coffee making and the history of coffee in Rwanda. This is another site I have recommended to friends and family and another spot I want to visit when I am back in Rwanda. The co-op is doing amazing work in the community and our guide here was a local coffee farmer (now marketing manager of the co-op) who had so much information to give. All in all I was sad I did not have more time in Rwanda to book another tour with this company, but I will definitely be back. Justin and Ishimwe did a beautiful job in making me fall even more in love with Rwanda. Thank you both for such an amazing day. Truly it was such a beautiful time.
We had a great tour to the Lake Kivu, did some kayaking, Nwunge National Park with a waterfall hike and last but not least the canopy walk. We two great days. Our driver helped us with everything and told us a lot about the beautiful country Rwanda! I definetly recommend Vista Safaris!
