5-Days Uganda Primate Trek – Gorilla & Chimpanze Safari

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport on an early morning flight or be met at your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala. Meet your guide, who will welcome you and transfer to your accomodation or some insight depending on time.

Spend the day relaxing, exploring Entebbe, or visiting nearby attractions such as the Botanical Gardens or Lake Victoria shores. Enjoy dinner at your hotel and rest well for the scenic adventure starting tomorrow.

After breakfast, begin a scenic drive southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing rolling hills, tea plantations, and local villages. Stop for photos or local crafts along the way. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, enjoy lunch, and relax while taking in the lush forest surroundings. Spend the evening at leisure, soaking in the sounds and sights of this remarkable rainforest in preparation for the gorilla trek tomorrow.

Start early with breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Trek through the dense rainforest for 1–6 hours, depending on your assigned gorilla family’s location. Witness the gorillas in their natural habitat for one hour, capturing incredible moments and observing their interactions. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch, rest, and reflection. Optional evening nature walks or cultural interactions in local villages can be arranged.

After breakfast, depart Bwindi and enjoy a scenic drive to Kibale National Park, home to habituated chimpanzees. Along the way, experience stunning countryside landscapes, rolling hills, and village life. Arrive at your lodge, check in, and enjoy lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring the lodge surroundings or relaxing, preparing for tomorrow’s chimpanzee trekking experience.

After an early breakfast, head to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking, guided by expert rangers. Observe these fascinating primates interacting in their natural environment, as well as other wildlife and diverse bird species. After the trek, enjoy lunch before starting your return journey to Entebbe, or optionally transfer to Kigali for a city tour or onward travel.
